Chennuru (Adilabad): A man died seven days after he attempted suicide along with his sister-in-law after his wife rejected his proposal to marry her sister in Adilabad district on Wednesday.
Tirupati of Challayipet village in Chennuru mandal of Adilabad district, was married to a woman from the same village two years back. Meanwhile he was in an illicit relationship with his sister-n-law (18) for some time and his wife was against this.
The village elders also tried to dissuade Tirupati and his wife strongly opposed husband's illegal relationship and his desire to marry her. Meanwhile, Tirupati and his girlfriend attempted suicide together by consuming pesticide at Manthani in Karimnagar on March 29. Tirupati died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in the hospital and his girlfriend's condition is stable, the doctors said.
Police registered a case and are investigating.
