CM Chandrababu reviews steps for 24x7 Power for all

For giving a facelift to the existing power distribution infrastructure and to build world class systems for rendering the best quality and reliable 24x7 power supply, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has emphasised the need for giving utmost priority for successful implementation of IPDS (Integrated Power Development Scheme) and DDUGJY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyothi Yojana), which will play a vital role in achieving the goals of 24x 7 power.

Stating this during an interaction with officials on Sunday, Chief Secretary Dr. I Y R Krishna Rao stated sustainable implementation of 24x7 (PFA) power supply in the State is the most favorite scheme of the Chief Minister among all the welfare measures or schemes, undertaken by the State government.

 In line with the advice of the Union Ministry of Power, the State government is contemplating to establish “District Electricity Committees” for reviewing and monitoring the execution of the prestigious projects of IPDS and DDUGJY, which paves way for all round development of distribution sector.

Instructions in this regard are expected to be issued by the Chief Minister for formation of District Electricity Committees, which will comprise of senior most MP of the district as Chairperson, other MPs as Co-Chairpersons and Convener and District Panchayat President/ Sabhapati, MLAs of the district and representatives of Central Public Sector Undertakings of Power, Coal and MNRE Ministry, if located in the concerned district as Members and CE/Superintending Engineer of the DISCOM as Member Secretary.
