Vizag to become a Wi-Fi city,Free WiFi in Vizag

In its run-up to become a smart city, Visakhapatnam is the next Telugu city after Hyderabad to get the public Wi-Fi facility within fifteen days. Quadgen, the popular internet company that launched the Wi-Fi services in Hyderabad, will extend its service to Vizag along with the association of BSNL.

In the pilot project, the 3 km RK Beach Road will become the first Wi-Fi zone and more zones will be added depending on its success. Users can avail the first 30 minutes for free and stipulated charges will be drawn for the rest of the services. Being a pet project for the state's Information and Broadcasting Ministry, the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation readily gave the permission to Quadgen to launch its Wi-Fi services.

However, following its tumultuous efforts in and around the Hyderabad's Tank Bund area where the free Wi-Fi services were availed with mixed response, lot is expected from Quadgen to offer glitch free internet service. Apparently, Tank Bund being a heavily tourist and public thronged area, the Wi-Fi service was either too slow or disrupted.
