The establishment of National Institute of Technology (NIT) issue has become the subject of dispute between Telugu Desam Party and BJP in Andhra Pradesh. As per the state re-organisation act commitment, the Centre has given the green signal for the establishment of NIT in West Godavari district in AP. BJP Minister Manikyala Rao wanted NIT to be established in Tadepalligudem but TDP leaders are pressurising the centre to set up the NIT in Elluru.
