China Rajappa Dont fight over cockfights, cock fight part of Telugu people culture,AP dy cm on cock fights
After TDP MLAs defended the cockfights and reiterated they would go ahead with organising the sport for the Sankranti festival despite High Court's
directions to the authorities not to allow it, AP Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister China Rajappa has now come into the open defending the sport saying cockfight is part of Telugu people's culture.
"The sport is part of the culture for people of East and West Godavari districts. In fact, I am also under pressure from the people of my constituency that there should be no bar on cockfight sport" , he said , adding that people will follow their culture and law will take its own course.
Earlier, TDP MLAs defended the cockfights saying they are part of their tradition.
Now, will Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu come into the open defending the sport which the High Court said violates the Provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to animals Act?
