Telangana Government announced Free Education will be offered in Government Junior Colleges all over the state from this Academic Year itself. It also made it clear Students will receive Text Books free of cost. Of course, These welcome changes are applicable for Telangana Students alone.
Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari claimed Telangana is the only state in the country to implement such a student-friendly policy. He said this decision would benefit around 1.15 lakh students and the burden on state exchequer will be Rs 15 crore per year.
As per statistics, There are 402 Junior Colleges in Telangana. Government is expecting rise in Students count by 15,000 due to free education it has been implementing. It also have plans to construct permanent structures and all the required facilities for all the colleges within two years.
Distribution of books to Telugu, English and Urdu medium students in Telangana state run Junior Colleges will be completed by July 31st.
