KCR’s meet with District Collectors,Haritha Haaram scheme,Telangana Government

On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao convened a meeting with the top officials of various departments on Haritha Haaram scheme along with ten district collectors to discuss the developments of the scheme that is set to begin in the first week of July.

The Telangana Government has resolved to plant 230 crore saplings including 100 crore in forest areas in the next three years. With less than 50 days left for the inauguration of the scheme, Chief Minister KCR is looking into the details so as to ensure that the project takes off successfully.

A senior official from the forest department stated that in the first year itself, 40 crore saplings are being planned to plant and neighbouring states – Karnataka and Maharashtra have been contacted for the supply of varieties of tree plantations.
