Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday appealed the President Pranab Mukharjee to initiate steps to send Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to jail for his blatant corruption and anti-people governance in the state. YS Jagan met the President Pranab Mukharjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The main agenda of the meet was to discuss on the special status to Andhra Pradesh on which the party has been fighting ever since the state was bifurcated in 2014. The YSRCP is of the view that the TDP government in AP had compromised on the special status issue which is essential for the state's development in view of its industrial backwardness. YS Jagan urged the President to help get AP the special status.
Reacting to the party MLAs joining TDP, YS Jagan said despite his vigorous efforts to lure all the MLAs, Chandrababu could only get four MLAs and that too by promising them cabinet berths. "I must salute all my party MLAs who did not give in to Chandrababu's fraudulent schemes to tempt them into his party," he told media after meeting the President. He said the President responded in a positive way on all the issues.
YS Jagan is also planning to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. However, their appointment could not be confirmed as both PM and Home Minister were busy monitoring the Jats' agitation in Haryana. YSRCP MPs YV Subba Reddy, Mithun Reddy, Avinash Reddy and Varaprasad accompanied the party president. They submitted a memorandum to the President listing all the irregularities of the CM.
