Uppal Stadium gearing up for IPL matches from April 16

The Uppal stadium in Hyderabad is gearing up for the scheduled matches and also those that might spill over from the stadium in Maharashtra following the severest drought in the neighbouring State.

The police are going to install some 100 CCTV cameras around the stadium to keep a watchful eye on the security. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand said some 2000 policemen would be on duty to maintain security.

He said the seven scheduled mataches in the stadium between April 16 and May 12 would be tightly monitored. He cautioned the eve-teasing prone youth to be wary. Prices for the food items sold in the stadium would be regulated, he added.

Anand said cell phones would be thoroughly checked before letting cricket fans into the stadium.

The Police Commissioner had no information on the spill-over matches from Maharashtra on account of the drought and consequent water shortage there
