Mastermind Ramesh Shivhare of Vyapam scam that rocked Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by a joint special task force of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Uttar Pradesh (UP) police, at Kanpur in UP. At least 48 persons linked to Vyapam scam died, some mysteriously. Shivhare has been evading CBI since 2012. The MP government had declared an award of Rs. 5,000 for his arrest. Shivhare is said to have admitted to his role in the scam.
