Crossing over of the YSR Congress MLAs to the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is continuing unabated despite the leadership’s efforts to check exodus of party leaders and lagislators. According to sources, senior YSRC leader MLA from Patapatnam in Srikakulam district Venkataramana Murthy is joining the TDP on Friday.
Accompanied by his followers he has already left for Vijayawada. The MLA will be joining the TDP in the presence of party national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Friday. With Venkataramana Murthy's crossing over to the TDP the total number of MLAs who joined the TDP till now goes up to eight.
Meanwhile, YSRC MLA from Bapatla in Guntur district Kona Raghupathi on Thursday made it clear that he would never even imagine of deserting the party. "I am following the footsteps of my late father Kona Prabhaker Rao, who was with the Congress till his last breath. I can never imagine of leaving the YSR Congress for petty gains and will strive hard for the development of his constituency by remaining in the party," he told media persons at his constituency headquarters of Bapatla.
