In a horrific incident, a man in Haryana sold off his wife to porn film makers as her parents were not able to meet his dowry demands.
The woman was married to Tiku Patikar on January 8, at a temple with the help of an acquaintance.
However, soon the relationship was falling apart as Tiku’s family began torturing her for dowry. Tiku’s family wanted a dowry of Rs 2 lakh in cash along with a Royal Enfield motorcycle which the woman’s family could not pay. Tiku then sold her to porn film makers for Rs 7 lakh. While he was planning to hand her over to the porn film makers, wife came to know of it and ran away from the place.
She reached her parent's place and told them about her ordeal. they promptly approached the police. She said that her in-laws not only taunted her for his father's inability to give dowry but also started treating her roughly. "They even made me work as a labourer in the fields," she said in her complaint.
The police have filed a case and are investigating.
