Union minister for commerce and trade Nirmala Sitaraman said the BJP-led government would fulfil all promises made during the time of AP bifurcation.

She was in Guntur on Monday to inaugurate the Spices Park. Sitaraman announced that Bhimavaram and Vishakapatnam would be developed as international trade centers like Shanghai in China. The minister also said the Centre would develop the two cities under the export excellence programme.

Sitraman said that foreigners began visiting India for spices and there still was a good market for Indian spices throughout the world.

Responding to the request of minister for agriculture P. Pulla Rao about upgrading the Spices Park, she said the centre would consider the same.

Sitaraman stressed on the importance of research saying that the Spices Board was conducting research on only 51 spices out of the total 109 spices.
