Hyderabad: TD MLA Revanth Reddy is likely to quit his post after he comes out on bail, said party sources on Monday.
Once out, Mr Reddy will take a decision after consulting TD chief and AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, sources disclosed. This is to thwart the TRS’ reported move to banish him from the Assembly.
“Well before he is suspended for a four-year term from the Assembly, he will take a decision to quit. He cannot raise his voice on any matter as long as this case is hanging over his head. He will think of resigning and get elected afresh from the same constituency — Kollapur in Mahbubnagar district. If he gets re-elected, he can salvage some prestige,” a senior leader close to Mr Revanth Reddy said.
But it depends on the final outcome. Even if he doesn’t get a reprieve in the ACB court, he can move the HC.
