Warangal: The suffering of Banoth Anitha, who was assaulted by her husbands’ relatives on Monday at DC Thanda in Wardhannapet Mandal, is continuing. It may be recalled that a 20-year old pregnant Anitha was stripped, beaten up and paraded naked on the streets.
The woman, who was admitted to MGM Hospital in Warangal following the attack, had lost her foetus following the severe injuries she suffered at the hands of her husbands’ first wife Swaroopa and her relatives.Due to the physical assault, the unborn baby died in the woman’s womb and it was removed at Government Maternity hospital Hanamkonda during late night hours of Tuesday.
Anitha, who suffered 15 percent of burn injuries, was slowly recovering from the ghastly experience she underwent. Meanwhile, District Collector Vakati Karuna and Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu visited her on Tuesday night at the hospital and assured her all possible support.
