AP Budget 2016: Rs .2,642 crore for Higher education

Hyderabad: AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu introduced Andhra Pradesh budget for 2016-17 in the Assembly on Thursday. For the first time, the state government has designed e-budget. The state government has provided copies of the e-budget to the members of the Assembly by tablets .
Rs .2,642 crore has been allocated for  higher education by the Finance Minister Yanamala.

Finance Minister's budget speech Highlights

* Rs .772 crore for ICDS scheme
* Rs .2,933 crore to the medical health department
* Rs .2,642 crore for higher education
* Rs .17,502 crore for primary education
* Rs 127 crore for the handloom sector
* Rs. 1,632 crore revenue is expected by the state Government from Mines and Geology Department
* Rs 100 crore to the food industry
* Rs.147 crore for silk industry
* Rs .659 crore to the Department of Horticulture
