AP Govt is not serious on Polavaram Project: Jagan

Opposite Party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has took a hit on the Government and said that the ruling party has been compromised on the Polavaram project. For those who don't know about it, The Polavaram project is considered lifeline for Andhra Pradesh in taking up the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme.

The Polavaram project was mainly targetted for storing Godavari water as it was going into sea and if it is saved, it can be used in times of distress.Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in a debate and said that the Government breached clauses 7 (e) and 7 (f) of the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal.

He further said that the Government is clearly not in a position to question Telangana Government after launching Pattiseema project. But Jagan Mohan Reddy said there is no storage component in the Pattiseema project.

However Water Resources Minister D. Umamaheswara Rao said Government has diverted 8.8 tmcft of water to save crops and she cleared the air that the project would be completed by 2018. Immediately Srikanth Reddy from YSRCP said that there were lots of irregularities and Umamaheswara Rao said everything was done transparent.
