Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Special Operations Team on Tuesday arrested a gang of land grabbers who had kidnapped Balakrishna, an elderly person from ECIL area, in connection with a property of 2,400 square yards, valued at around 30 crore.
“So far, the police has apprehended 12 of the 25 involved”, revealed DCP Ramachander Reddy on Tuesday. The Neredment inspector Chandrababu was suspended by the Cyberabad police commissioner on allegations of lending indirect support to the miscreants.
A resident of Sainikpuri, Boddapati Balakrishna Rao (70) owns a property near ECIL crossroads, is being contested in courts by two parties. Madhav and his associates that included the house help Yadagiri, Ravinder an ex-con from Anantapur and others, belonging to one party, kidnapped Balakrishna from his residence on February 25 and took him to Madhav's gardens. After threatening him there they released him the next day.
Based on the evidence given by Balakrishna's watchman, SOTC inspector S.C.H Rangaswamy was able to identify the culprits. The police has arrestedJalpalli Yadagiri, Mohd. Abdul Khader, Mohd. Mahboob Khan, Dasireddy Subba Reddy, Reddyvari Ravinder Reddy, Gogula Tirupataiah, Jitta Katamaiah, Jitta Gurusekhar, Devagudi Venkatasiva, Panduga Bhim Reddy, J Jagan Goud and R Murali Mohan and is on the look out for the others involved.
Investigations revealed that Neredmet inspector Chandrababu was fully aware of the happenings. He has been suspended for lending support to them indirectly.
