Notwithstanding the efforts being made by YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to keep his flock together, four to five more MLAs are likely to shift their loyalties to TDP before the budget session of the state Assembly begins here on March 5.
This became evident as about 13 MLAs of YSRCP failed to attend the meeting convened by Jagan at his Lotus Pond house on Monday to prevail upon the MLAs not to quit the party. Of the 13 absentees, four legislators - Y Balanagi Reddy (Mantralayam), Y Sai Prasad Reddy (Adoni), Kalamata Venkata Ramana Murthy (Pathapatnam) and Kidari Sarveswara Rao (Araku) are said to have decided to cross over to TDP.
Meanwhile, Venkata Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao Rau (Bobbili), who is on a foreign tour now, is also said to be among those who may quit YSRCP. However, talking to media after the meeting, party MLAs- K Sridhar Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy said, "YSRC MLAs from all the districts have met party chief Jagan here today and expressed their loyalty to the party."
Taken aback by the migrations taking place, Jagan is exploring the possibility of moving a no confidence against the government in addition to the no confidence motion already moved against the Speaker K Sivaprasada Rao.
