Elections to four vacant Rajya Sabha seats from AP quota will be taking place in May this year.
Apparently, At least 10 MLAs should propose the name of each candidate in Rajya Sabha. Each Nominee will have to prove the support of 42 MLAs to emerge victorious in Rajya Sabha polls.
As per the strength in the House, TDP-BJP Combine have 106 MLAs to bag three Rajya Sabha seats. Whereas, YSR Congress with 67 MLAs should settle with only one.
However, Telugu Desam is planning to bag all the four Rajya Sabha seats by taking the support of Rebel YCP MLAs. As of now, The strength of TDP has fallen to 59. Ruling Party is trying to lure as many MLAs as possible in the next couple of months and there is every chance of cross voting in the Rajya Sabha polls.
YSR Congress is keen to send Jagan's auditor Vijay Sai Reddy to Rajya Sabha. TDP, on the other hand, wishes to field a businessman who could influence YCP MLAs.
