HYDERABAD: At a time when speculation is rife over the possibility of Cabinet reshuffle in the coming days, some of the ministers along with wannabe mantris have begun competing with one another in hurling choicest jibes at YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Ministers such as Kamineni Srinivas, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, who have been trying to corner Leader of Opposition Jagan in the ongoing Assembly session, are now continuing their tirade against him even outside the House.
Finding an opportunity to criticise the YSRC chief for his latest scathing remarks made at Naidu, the ministers intensified their vitriol against Jagan and even resorting to name-calling.
A day after Jagan’s virulent attack on Naidu, saying that the latter had neither character nor credibility, Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday said Jagan is the real traitor, who had deceived the Congress high command which had given political life to his family right from his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy to him.
“Jagan has no respect for the State Assembly. He stalled the House for days for the sake of one person (Roja). What moral right has he to attack our Chief Minister, who is known for values and ethics?” he questioned.
Ganta’s colleague Kamineni Srinivas said, “Jagan used to be scared of the then CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana. When the top cop was in the State, Jagan used to stay confined to his House.”
He then advised the YSRC chief, who is facing court cases in connection with corruption charges, to think twice before pointing an accusing finger at the Chief Minister.
Similarly, Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao charged Jagan with amassing wealth by looting public money. “Jagan and his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy are synonymous for corruption. In the garb of Jalayagnam, they plundered public money.”
Though there is no official word from Chief Minister Naidu over the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle, several aspirants too went ballistic at the YSRC chief, alleging that Jagan is a symbol of corruption.
For instance, party MLC Somireddy Chandramohana Reddy, while joining the Jagan-bashing, said, “It is Jagan who has neither character nor credibility. He betrayed AICC president Sonia Gandhi, who had given his family several top posts during previous Congress governments in the State.”
