Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police busted a cricket betting racket by arresting a seven-member gang on Sunday. Cyberabad Special Operations Team police received a tip-off that one Raj Kumar of Tukaramgate in Secunderabad was organising betting through some hired agents at a flat at Nagole. On raiding the flat, the team apprehended Prabha Prasad (38), R Srinivas (36) and T Srinivas (34), who had been acting as agents in contacting punters and Reddy Mahender (34), who was acting as collection agent, Jittu Acharya (30), laptop operator, besides two punters Uday Kumar Reddy and Pradeep Reddy.
The police seized Rs 64,000 cash and Rs 77,675 that was transferred to the account of an agent, a Laptop, a TV and a bike from their possession. The SOT police said the accised were handed over to LB Nagar police for further action. Hunt is on to nab the prime accused Raj Kumar.
