A visibly angry Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham was all fire and brimstone against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and asked him to fulfil all the promises made to the Kapu community during his recent indefinite fast. He gave a deadline till March 10, failing which he would launch an indefinite fast from March 11.

A livid and emotional Mudragada, who addressed a media conference at his Kirlampudi residence, said that the government was tapping his phones and was trying to show him in poor light. He said Chandrababu was also going back on the promise of booking cases in Tuni Kapu Ikya Garjana violence only after thorough probe. He was also angry at Chandrababu making disparaging remarks against him during the recent loan disbursal programme at Eluru.
He also took strong exception to the TDP-dominated Janmabhoomi committees deciding on the Kapu loan beneficiaries. He demanded that every applicant should be given loans and Kapu Corporation should be given Rs 500 crore for taking up developmental and welfar activities for the Kapus. He said the Government had gone back on the promises it made to make him call off his fast.
Mudragada also smalled Chandrababu Naidu for encouring land grab around the AP Capital Area. "Why does the capital city need 33000 acres of land? Why are the poor and the marginalised being threatened to part with their lands? Why only those belonging to the TDP are getting benefited?" he asked.
