‘108’ ambulance service after a 11 day gap was back on the roads following the fruitful talks they had with the Health Minister C.Laxma Reddy.
The 108 ambulance service run by the GVK-Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) agreed to call off their strike following the Health Minister assured a hike of Rs.1,000 pm immediately and also he would convince the management to take back the 70 sacked employees. He also promised that wages for the strike period would be given to them.
Laxma Reddy said that a six member committee would be set up to look into the other demands raised by the employees. On the demand of running of the service by the government, the health minister assured to examine the issue of the possibilities.
It may be recalled that a ‘108’ ambulance service under the aegis of Telangana 108 employees Welfare Association went on indefinite strike from midnight of May 13 after failure of talks with the management on the 15 demands put forth before them.
