HYDERABAD: Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene before civil unrest and civil war started between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana like in Sri Lanka.

During a press conference at his party office, Pawan Kalyan said that the Prime Minister should establish a central committee that would report directly to the Prime Minister’s Office to monitor the developments in Hyderabad, the capital city of the two states.

Though he did not comment on the cash-for-vote case, stating that the matter was sub judice, he criticised the phone tapping incident and demanded a CBI investigation.

He said that it was a serious issue, especially as they had tapped the phones of the AP Chief Minister.

Pawan Kalyan also said that such incidents could lead to serious law and order problems in the two Telugu speaking states.

He criticised TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and minister T. Harish Rao for making comments on the people of the AP.

He also regretted that the Chief Ministers of both states failed to address the problems of the common man while indulging in dirty politics.

He said that if the present situation continued, implementing Section 8 of the AP Reorganization Act would become inevitable, adding that he was against that at any cost.

He also blamed Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao for poaching TD leaders and stated that though he managed to take TD leader Talasani Srinivas into his party, he could not convince the voters.
