Hyderabad: The Telangana State government, which is leaving no stone unturned to make Godavari Pushkarams a grand affair on the lines of Kumbh Mela, wants much of the transport facilities be provided to the pilgrims. In tune with this plan, TRS MP B Vinod Kumar wrote to Railway Ministry seeking special trains for Godavari Pushkarams. He sought connectivity from Secunderabad to Bhadrachalam, Ramagundam and Basara, where much of the religious rituals will be carried out.
Meanwhile, TRS MP Azmeera Seetaram Naik met Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu on Monday requesting change in the name of AP Express which runs between Hyderabad and Delhi to Telangana Express. Speaking to Hans India, the MP said that pending projects and separate railway division for Telangana State were discussed among other issues. “Telangana government is not against AP or its people, but since a new Express train is being planned from Vijayawada, the TS government is seeking change of name for the AP Express,” he said.
