Two techies from Amazon were killed when their bike rammed a truck at Gachibowli. The victims and their friends were returning after visiting a temple when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Amodh Singh, 27, a resident of Kothaguda, Gachibowli, and a native of Lucknow, and Puja Singh, 26, wife of Rajesh Singh, a resident of Pensionpura in Langar Houz and a native of Rohatash district in UP.
Gachibowli police said the victims and their colleagues, Abhishek and Neha, had planned to visit the Balaji temple at Chilkur and were travelling on two bikes. They visited the temple on Saturday evening.
“After their trip, they came to drop a friend at Gachibowli at around 11 pm. When they reached Microsoft Gate-I, Amodh, who was driving the bike, failed to notice a truck taking a U-turn and crashed into it from behind. They were injured seriously and taken to Continental Hospitals where they died," said SI Venkatesh.
Based on a complaint a negligence case was booked against the truck driver. Their bodies were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. The police said the accused has not been arrested and a manhunt is on to nab him.
The other two techies who accompanied the victims are safe as they were away from the truck. They helped to shift the victims in an autorickshaw.
In another incident, two youngsters suffered serious injuries when a car crashed into their bike at Tukkuguda in Pahadishareef on Sunday. The victims, L. Naresh, 19, and N. Naresh, 19, both degree students at a city college, were going to a friend’s house. The rashly-driven car crashed into them when they were taking a U-turn at Tukkuguda.
