Hyderabad: Two youngsters, who duped e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon by returning the product parcels after emptying the contents and filling them with sand, were arrested on Wednesday.
According to the police, Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque (19) and his relative Md Sharoz Ansari (24) order electronics goods such as laptops and cameras and cellphones from Flipkart and Amazon.
When the delivery executive brings the parcel, one engages him, while the other takes the package inside on the pretext of examining the contents. Once inside the house, he takes out the electronic equipment, fills the package with sand and re-packs it. Later, he comes out to pay the money through his defunct debit card. When the operation fails, they return the parcel.
On complaint by the e commerce giants, the Task Force cops kept a tab on their activities and nabbed them on Wednesday. The police recovered several phones, digital cameras, laptops and video game console from them.
The accused have been handed over to the Golconda police.
