Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched AP FiberNet in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. State Government wishes to provide broadband connectivity for 1.3 crore households and it already struck a deal with Cisco. The agenda is to offer low-cost broadband connection to all the households and business operations in the state.
AP FiberNet will be providing 15 mbps speed at a cost of Rs 149 per month for households and 100 mbps at a price of Rs 999 per month for work places. If this becomes a reality, Existing Internet Service Providers will be losing their market all over state as AP FiberNet rates were very reasonable.
AP Fiber Grip Project has been sponsored by Union Government's National Optic Fiber Network. Operations of this Rs 333 crore Project will be extended to all the districts by July 2016.
Chandrababu Naidu believes AP FiberNet will bring remarkable change by curbing corruption and wonders can be created if technology was used properly.
