Hyderabad: TD chief Chandrababu Naidu has build a brand image of Hyderabad with the growth of Information Technology in Andhra Pradesh. Later many leaders have followed in his footsteps. Now, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has made his maiden power-point presentation on the projects in the Telangana Legislature.
It caught imagination of the lawmakers as well as viewers, who were watching the show live on television sets on Thursday. They could understand how Telangana was denied the fruits of irrigation over the years. The Congress and Telugu Desam legislators would regret their decision as they lost a golden chance to raise their doubts.
The Chief Minister exposed 450-odd illegal barrages constructed by Maharashtra and Karnataka on Krishna and Godavari rivers with the help of Google Earth images in the Legislative Assembly. The illegal constructions were marked red in colour.
“Maharashtra and Karnataka have set up huge lifts to pump water. Unless these projects, reservoirs and barrages are full and they will release excess water downstream. Even AP faces the same risk. It is for this reason our Singur project has dried up this year for the first time in history. Even Sriram Sagar project did not receive a single drop of water from upstream,” KCR said.
KCR confident of the subject as his family was a victim of the projects. He revealed that his father lost 3,000 acres of land during the construction of Upper Manair Dam in 1943. After that their family fell on bad times. However, at the end of a two-and-a-half hour presentation, KCR has emerged as a winner.
