Hyderabad: The Patron of Madhapur area and Kamareddy MLA, Gampa Govardhan and mentor M Jagadeeshwar, HMWSSB Managing Director, undertook Padayatra in Sainagar Mega Hills, Srirama Colony, Guttala Begumpet on Monday as part of Swachh Hyderabad campaign.
The Madhapur’s Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) prioritised waste disposal, water supply position, sewer overflows, street lights, roads, security and optimum use of existing vacant lands for the Swachh Hyderabad campaign in their area. Jagadeeshwar, suggested for maintaining two dustbins at houses, one for wet waste and another for dry waste, for which the residents agreed.
The waste from their residence would be transported by rickshaw or autos maintained by GHMC. Similarly, for security problems, the official advised the residents to maintain CCTV cameras in select locations for helping the concerned police station to monitor the security.
The RWAs agreed to install the CCTV cameras with their contribution. Two roads which were in bad condition would also be re-laid and some non functional street lights would be repaired, the official assured. Later in the evening, Jagadeeshwar and other unit officers reviewed the decisions, suggestions made during morning inspection.
With community participation, community policing backed with Government support, the objective of Swachh-Telangana, Swachh-Hyderabad can be achieved, asserted both Gampa Govardhan and Jagadeeshwar. Among others who participated in the programme included K L Vatsala Devi, Nodal Officer, GHMC, P Venketeshwar Rao, General Manager (Engg.), O&M Division No.XV, Madhapur, HMWSSB.
