Anushka Sharma,virat kohli
Anushka Sharma has been mum about her relationship with cricketer Virat Kohli for quite sometime now. The actress has been spotted on several occasions by her man’s side and has finally opened up about it in an interview with NDTV, after fans blamed her for the cricketer’s poor performance on the England tour.
The actress made it clear that her relationship with Kohli has nothing to do with their professional careers. “My relationship with a person has nothing to do with my professional life or the person’s professional life. But I think people just see us like that, for that its eye grabbing so let’s talk about that,” she said.
Anushka confessed it’s been difficult dealing with taking the blame for someone else constantly. “It was very difficult because, one thing is to deal with your own issues which I think I have been in the industry for a fair amount of time, I’ve been able to deal with it. But when you have to be blamed for somebody else, like I don’t want to be given credit for anything that someone else does nor do I want to be blamed for what someone else does,” she said.
Speaking about being a distraction for Virat, Anushka thinks it was very ‘primitive’ of fans to even think of something like that, and blame her for his performance on field. She said, “I don’t know under what something like this has been decided for because I didn’t like the term ‘distraction’. Why do you think someone will be a distraction, why can’t someone be strength to somebody a supporter a moral booster?”
“Why is that person a distraction? What because you are attaching a physical relationship? I found that extremely primitive and distasteful to use that word. That’s because of the background I come from, for me it’s like ‘who talks like that?’.”
“And then you are doubting the capability of these people who are playing since they were children, that’s all they know. If you meet these guys, they don’t know anything other than cricket. They breathe, eat, live, die cricket. So you are saying they are not capable to deal with their career. Give them credit for what they have achieved.”
