Hyderabad: Taking to task everyone and every political party, actor-turned-political and leader and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan on Monday asked them to shun playing political games and focus on fulfilling people’s expectations for which they were elected.
At a press conference here, if those at the helm of affairs in both the Telugu states fail to resolve the antagonism brewing between the politicians of the two states, it might lead to civil unrest a la what had happened in Sri Lanka and a situation may arise where KCR would himself have to implement section 8 of the AP state Re-organisation Act.
Pawan at the same time appreciated KCR for setting an example of forging unity among Telugu-speaking people of both states by designating an architect from Andhra region for Yadadri development project. Finding fault with some political leaders from Telangana using the word like “Andhrollu” (Andhraites), settlers to take to task their political opponents in TDP, he said “TDP alone does not represent the collectivity of people of Andhra Pradesh.” Such usage and outbursts would cause bitterness among people.
He asked the leaders from Telangana State to desist from the same. “Andhrollu consist of not one community, but people of several communities. If you want to blame TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, you do it directly. But, do not send wrong message using such words,” he pointed out.
Taking a dig at TDP and its government, as well as the leaders from Seemandhra, he asked them to focus more on the development of Andhra Pradesh rather than getting some hold on Hyderabad by fighting for Section 8. “Yes, it was an unfair bifurcation that caused injustice to Andhra Pradesh. But, the division had already been done, and it’s time to focus more on AP,” he said.
He refused to respond to comment on cash –for-vote scam because to comment on it ws being sub-judice. He, however, said that Talasani Srinivas Yadav jumped onto the bandwagon of the TRS and became a Minister. But, it would be foolish to think all the people of Sanathnagar had shifted loyalties to the TRS. He pointed out that the TRS and TDP were busy in playing political games even a year after both the parties came to power.
Advising them to end the political rivalry, he said the TRS government was harping on the sacrifice of 600 youth for a separate state, while the TDP government has a lot of promises to fulfill in the aftermath of state’s bifurcation.
