TS Govt to present Rs 1.58 lakh crore Budget next year

TS Govt to present Rs 1.58 lakh crore Budget next year

The next budget of Telangana State would be much bigger than it has ever been. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao hinted at this on Thursday stating that the budget of the State in the next financial year would be in the order of Rs 1.58 lakh crores- some Rs 40,000 crore over and above that of the present financial year. Exuding confidence on accelerating the growth rate in the State, he said that the State has been accorded A-1 status in growth by the survey organisations.

There would be quantum leap in budget allocations. Addressing a meeting of the ex-servicemen here, he announced that the honorarium to veterans of First World War would be enhanced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6000. He opined that their participation in the rebuilding of the State would embolden the people and their help would be taken to resolve some pressing issues being faced by the government. He pointed out that the participation of the ex-servicemen in the Grama Jyothi programme in Chinna Mulkanur has sent a good message to the people.

Stating that the army had defended the country so well, so long , the Chief Minister said that the issues of ex-servucemen were not serious ones and would be resolved soon. He wanted the officials concerned to involve representatives of ex-servicemen to coordinate with the government. He stated that the talented army men from the State would be honoured on State Formation Day, next year. He wanted the ex-servicemen to give a list of issues being faced by them district wise.

The Chief Minister promised to reserve some units in the housing scheme to them and to allot some fund for their welfare in the next budget. He would hold a meeting with the DGP, Home Secretary and Chief Secretary to chalk out a strategy for the benefit of ex-servicemen. He rubbished the claims of previous governments on development of Hyderabad, stating that there was no suitable place for the Chief Minister to live, no parking facilities while even higher officials like DGP and chief secretary did not have good accommodation, no good conference hall, and about 40,000 ex-servicemen of the State did not have good office to conduct business.

KCR said that the government was committed to the development of Telangana and irrigation sector has been given top priority. He alleged that the AP government was creating hurdles to the efforts of TS government though Telangana was ready to accept what has been awarded to it. The Chief Minister criticised that no project was designed without an inter-State dispute by the erstwhile government only to deny completion of projects.
