While India is still shilly-shallying around the viewing of porn, other countries have moved way ahead in adult content promotion. Some porn sites have come up with an interesting tactic to promote porn for the benefit of college students abroad.
A pornography website has decided to offer college scholarships up to $25000 for students short on money and in return one is expected to submit a homemade video.
The student is required to answer a single question “how do you strive to make others happy?” through an essay and a video and will be judged on their creative skills.
Pornhub.com which boasts of 7.8 billion video views annually, has launched this as part of the site’s philanthropic effort 'Pornhub Cares'. The website laid down ground rules for participants to send in their entries for the content.
The participant should be 18 years and above and currently be enrolled in a college course. The entrant should have a GPA of 3.2 or higher in college and an official transcript should be attached with the scores before sending in.
The site already offers prizes in “amateur pornography” contests and, like YouTube, offers a percentage of advertisement revenue for users who draw high traffic.
However, a lot of feminist groups are lambasting the site for what they call 'deceptive marketing tactic' targeting cash-strapped college students.
Previous Pornhub campaigns have included a tree-planting contest, a testicular cancer awareness effort and a charity drive for breast cancer research.
