26/11 Mumbai terror attacks plotter Zabiuddin Ansari (alias Abu Jundal) was shifted to JJ Hospital from the Arthur Road jail on Thursday morning as his health condition worsened.
Since August 5th, Zabiuddin Ansari has been on an indefinite fast in protest against the Jail Authorities who have kept him in solitary confinement. The month-long fast has taken a toll on his health and hence he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Zabiuddin Ansari's Lawyer even moved Bombay High Court against the Arthur Road jail officials. This petition will come up for hearing on September 11th.
Currently, Zabiuddin Ansari is facing the trail in Aurangabad Arms Haul case which was registered in 2006. He is yet to face the trail in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks & a criminal case registered against him in New Delhi.
Zabiuddin Ansari was arrested after his deportation from Saudi Arabia in 2012. He is a native of Beed in Maharashtra.
