As we all know, Hindupuram MLA and cine actor Balakrishna casted his vote for GHMC elections at a polling booth in Jubilee Hills division on Tuesday.
Today, Telangana Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar complained to state elections commission, demanding to announce Balakrishna unfit as an MLA, for violating election commission rules.
"Balakrishna is a legislature member in Andhra Pradesh. How could he vote in GHMC polls here in Telangana, with which he has no equations or connection? A politician should have vote right in particular state to compete in the elections. As per 'the representation of the public act', Balakrishna can't vote in Telangana, so he should be suspended as MLA," asserted Ponnala.
He further stated that, one can have voter ID in any state in India, if he/she is contesting for MP elections, but to contest for assembly one should have vote right in his own state, according to the act.
