The bogies of Ratnachal Express, which were burnt during Kapu agitation at Tuni, are for sale. South Central Railway has put the damaged the bogies for sale in Vijayawada. The bogies are being sold as old iron scrap. Total 17 burnt bogies are opened for auction. SCR has invited tenders for the bogies.
Vijayawada Railway officials say that the tenders with highest quote get the material. While the bogies of Ratnachal Express were burnt on Jan 30 in Tuni after the Kapu Garjana took a violent turn, the bogies were first shifted to Tuni railway station from there they were recently transported to Vijayawada.
On other hand, many are criticizing such acts in democracy as it's the public exchequer which suffers huge loss. It's high-time, Railways and State government should take strict action against hooligans who resort to damage of public property.
