Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has withdrawn security cover to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and 30 other VIPs.
Eight family members of former Union Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde, former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, former Union Minister D Raja, former Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam, NHRC chairperson KG Balakrishnan, Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul and Industrialist Naveen Jindal were in the list.
In a communique released today, Home Ministry said that concerned state governments will provide security to the VIPs. The Ministry said that it took a decision to withdraw security cover after examining threat perception.
