California: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has temporarily changed his profile picture to show his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ initiative.
“I changed my profile picture to support Digital India, the Indian government's effort to connect rural communities to the internet and give people access to more services online. Looking forward to discussing this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Facebook today. Show your support for Digital India”, said Zuckerberg on his profile picture.
Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg had announced Modi's visit on his Facebook page earlier this month and invited users to post questions. He had said that he is looking forward to having a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about what connectivity means for India's future at a townhall session.
Modi began his visit to California with meetings with top CEOs including Apple's Chief Tim Cook, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too changed his profile picture in response to Zuckerberg's gesture and thanked him for supporting the 'Digital India' initiative.
"Thanks Mark Zuckerberg for the support. I changed my DP in support of the efforts towards a Digital India", Narendra Modi posted on the social networking site.
All eyes are on now set on his interaction with Zuckerberg at Facebook's California's headquarters against the backdrop of the Indian leader’s push for Digital India.
