Nellore: CPI national secretary K Narayana alleged that Congress and BJP supported Vijay Mallya, who cheated banks to the tune of Rs. 7,000 crore. Interacting with media here on Saturday, he said Congress leaders never worried about suicides of lakhs of farmers in the country.
Accusing that financial crimes were encouraged both by Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi, Narayana added that former MP Magunta Subbarami Reddy was killed as he was involved in one of the cases of Vijay Mallya. “They were business partners,” he added.
Narayana alleged that former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh conducted a special meet with bankers in a bid to diffuse the issue. “Modi-led government lacks guts to take action against people like Mallya. He even failed to bring back black money as promised,” he charged.
